Everything comes together in one pan, ensuring minimal cleanup, which is always a bonus. Prepare your palate for tender, hearty chickpeas enveloped in a luxurious, golden-hued sauce that boasts a perfect balance of savory notes from the onion and garlic, and a subtle sweetness from the tomato paste and coconut milk. A gentle warmth from the chili flakes provides a pleasant counterpoint, while fresh basil brightens every bite. This versatile chickpea recipe is remarkably flexible and invites personalization. You can easily adjust the amount of chili flakes to perfectly match your desired level of heat—add more for a fiery kick or reduce them for a milder, family-friendly dish. For an even deeper savory base, allow the diced yellow onion to caramelize slightly longer before adding the garlic. If you prefer a richer, even more decadent sauce, you could incorporate an additional splash of full-fat coconut milk. This already makes a fantastic healthy main dish, rich in plant-based protein.

These Marry Me Chickpeas make for a satisfying dinner any night of the week. Serve them hot with warm naan to soak up every last bit of that luscious sauce, or enjoy them simply on their own as a hearty and wholesome main dish.
