What makes this recipe truly special is its simplicity and the depth of flavor you achieve with so few ingredients. By letting the oven do the heavy lifting, the ham steaks become beautifully tender, infused with a sweet and tangy glaze that caramelizes to perfection.

Get ready for succulent, savory ham steaks coated in a glossy, irresistible glaze that balances the smoky notes of the ham with bright, sweet undertones. The Dijon mustard provides a subtle tang that cuts through the richness, while pure maple syrup and brown sugar create a decadent, sticky finish. This dish is wonderfully approachable for any home cook, yielding a main course that tastes far more complex than its easy preparation suggests. Naturally, this recipe is also gluten-free, making it a thoughtful option for those with dietary considerations, and it can be a low FODMAP choice depending on specific Worcestershire sauce brands.

While delicious as is, you can easily adapt this dish. For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the glaze. If you prefer a less sweet profile, reduce the brown sugar slightly and increase the Dijon mustard. This versatile recipe can even be prepared with thicker-cut ham steaks, though cooking time may need a slight adjustment.

Baked Ham Steaks make an excellent centerpiece for a cozy Sunday dinner, a holiday brunch, or a quick weeknight meal. Serve it alongside roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh green salad to complete your plate.
