There is something nostalgic and comforting about a bowl of beanie weenies. It's humble in nature, yes, but it is satisfying and always going to satisfy.

Ingredients

  • 2slices thick-cut bacon, chopped
  • 1pkg. hot dogs, sliced 1/4-in.-thick (about 3 cups)
  • 1can country-style baked beans (such as bush’s)
  • ½ cupketchup or bottled chili sauce
  • ¼ cupworcestershire sauce
  • 1 ½ tsp.yellow mustard
  • 1 ½ tsp.garlic powder
  • ½ tsp.onion powder
  • 2 tbsp.chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley (optional)
  • hot sauce, for serving (optional)

Directions

    Gather all ingredients.

    Heat a large skillet over medium-high. Add bacon, and cook, stirring often, until crisp, about 6 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate, reserving drippings in skillet; set aside.

    Add hot dogs to hot drippings; cook over medium-high, stirring occasionally, until evenly browned, about 5 minutes.

    Stir in baked beans, ketchup, Worcestershire, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and reserved cooked bacon until incorporated; bring to a boil over medium-high. Reduce heat to low, and simmer, stirring occasionally until thickened, about 10 minutes. Stir in parsley, if desired. Serve hot with hot sauce, if desired.
