  • 1 cup finely chopped yellow onion
  • 1 large clove garlic

    finely minced

  • 1/4 cup + 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 3 1/4 cups low-fat milk

    then more to thin if desired

  • 1 can low-sodium chicken broth

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 3 cups finely chopped fresh broccoli florets*

  • 10 oz sharp cheddar cheese or extra sharp cheddar cheese

Directions
