'Tis the season for homemade pumpkin spice lattes and copycat Starbucks pumpkin bread baked right in your own kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 1 cansolid-pack pumpkin
  • 4 largeeggs, room temperature
  • ¾ cupcanola oil
  • ⅝ cupwater
  • 2 cupssugar
  • 1 cuphoney
  • 1 teaspoonsvanilla extract
  • 3 cupsall-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoonsbaking soda
  • 1 teaspoonssalt
  • 1 teaspoonsground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoonground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoonground cloves
  • ½ teaspoonground ginger
  • ½ cupsalted pumpkin seeds or pepitas

    Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat the pumpkin, eggs, canola oil, water, sugar, honey and vanilla extract until well blended. In another large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and ginger. Gradually beat the flour mixture into the pumpkin mixture just until combined.

    Evenly divide the batter between two greased 9x5-inch loaf pans. Sprinkle the tops with the pumpkin seeds.

    Bake the pumpkin loaves until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 60 to 70 minutes. Let the loaves cool in their pans for 10 minutes, then remove them from the pans and onto a wire rack to cool at room temperature.
