Creamy Dijon Chicken is a classic dish featuring chicken breasts and a creamy dijon sauce that always satisfies! So, I thought to myself how can I take this delicious dish and turn it into a crockpot recipe? During the holidays or any time of the year when you are busy it is very nice to have a dish that you can make in the crockpot, but you wouldn't know you made it in the crockpot…if you know what I mean. This crockpot recipe is exactly that! This Creamy Dijon Chicken is as good in the crockpot as it is in the pan with simple ingredients and always a crowd pleaser. Let's make it!

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lbschicken breasts (room temperature & patted dry)
  • 1 tspitalian steak seasoning
  • 1 tsppaprika
  • 1 tspcracked black pepper
  • ½ tspcrushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tspsalt (divided)
  • ⅓ cupheavy cream
  • 1 cupwhite wine
  • 2shakes worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbspchopped garlic
  • ¼a red onion (chopped)
  • ½ cupgrated pecorino romano
  • 4 tbspdijon mustard
  • 1 tbspcornstarch
  • 3 tbspbutter (sliced)
  • 1 cupbaby spinach (chopped)

Directions

    Season both sides of your chicken breasts with italian steak seasoning, paprika, cracked black pepper, crushed red pepper flakes, and ½ tsp of salt. Set that aside.

    In a large measuring cup or bowl add in heavy cream, white wine, worcestershire, garlic, red onion, pecorino romano, ½ a tsp of salt, and more cracked black pepper if needed. Whisk that together until fully combined. Then add in the dijon mustard and cornstarch. Whisk that together until combined.

    Add the seasoned chicken breasts to your crockpot and pour the creamy dijon mixture all over the top of the chicken. Place the pats of butter over the top and pop the lid on.

    Cook on high for 2-3 hours or on low for 4-6 hours.

    Once the chicken is done, add in the chopped spinach, pop the lid back on, and cook for another five minutes or until the spinach is wilted. Serve over mashed potatoes and enjoy!
