Dulce de Leche Rice Pudding
Ingredients
- 1 cup of water
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 cup white rice
you can use quick ones
- 4 cups 2% milk
- 1 can of Dulce de Leche
380 grams or 13.4 oz.
- 1 tablespoon butter
- salt
Directions
- 1
Cook the rice following the instructions on the box, use a cinnamon stick in the cooking water and a pinch of salt.
- 2
Place the milk and Dulce de Leche in a saucepan and heat over medium-high heat, stirring to dissolve the Dulce de Leche.
- 3
Add the cooked rice and continue to cook over medium-low heat for 20-30 minutes, stirring frequently.
- 4
Be careful. When the milk reaches the boiling state, it produces a lot of foam. Reduce the heat to a simmer.
- 5
Wait until you reach the desired thickness. In my case, it took 24 minutes. Add the butter and turn off the heat.
- 6
Remember: it will thicken when cold!
- 7
Serve cold or warm with chocolate sprinkles, raisins, or just by itself.

About this Recipe
Craving a comforting dessert that's rich, creamy, and wonderfully sweet? This Dulce de Leche Rice Pudding is a delightful twist on a beloved classic, offering warmth and decadence in every spoonful.
This recipe elevates traditional rice pudding with the deep caramel notes of dulce de leche, an ingredient that transforms both the texture and flavor profile. The careful addition of cinnamon sticks infuses a subtle, aromatic spice, creating a beautifully balanced and inviting dessert. Using 2% milk ensures a perfectly creamy consistency without being overly heavy, letting the star ingredient shine.
You can expect a lusciously creamy and smooth pudding, with tender rice grains suspended in a decadent, caramel-infused base. The aromatic hints of cinnamon perfectly complement the rich sweetness of the dulce de leche, creating a truly comforting and satisfying dessert experience. It's a sweet indulgence that feels both familiar and exciting.
While 2% milk is suggested for a balanced richness, whole milk would yield an even creamier, more luxurious pudding. If you prefer a less intense sweetness, you can adjust the amount of dulce de leche to your liking, or balance its richness with a tiny pinch more salt. For those seeking a quicker preparation, quick-cooking white rice is a convenient and effective option.
Serve this Dulce de Leche Rice Pudding warm or chilled as a delightful dessert after a family meal, or as a cozy evening treat. It's especially comforting on cooler days, offering a taste of sweet indulgence.
