Melt butter.
Add shaved dried beef.
Stir over medium high heat until beef is just slightly crisped on edges.
Stir in cornstarch.
Add 1 cup of milk.
Stir until thick.
Add remaining milk.
Stir often over medium high heat until thick. (Appr. 15 minutes)
Serve over fried potatoes or toast.
