Ingredients

or olive oil
- 1 cup onion
chopped
- 2 garlic cloves
minced
- 1 cup green chiles
diced or chopped; frozen or canned, do not drain
- 2 cups vegetable broth
or chicken
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 3/4 teaspoon sea salt or kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- Optional: 1 jalapeno pepper
