Prepare for a hearty, deeply flavorful experience. Each spoonful of this rich, zesty homemade spaghetti sauce offers a delightful balance of savory meatiness and bright tomato notes, subtly sweetened by the shredded carrot. The sauce's thick consistency, thanks to diced tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, and tomato paste, clings beautifully to pasta, making for a truly satisfying main course. While fantastic as written, you can easily customize this homemade spaghetti sauce. Swap the shredded carrot for a pinch of sugar if you prefer a smoother texture without the vegetable, or enhance the fresh flavors with a sprinkle of fresh basil instead of parsley at the end. For a milder flavor, you could use all ground beef, or all Italian sausage for a bolder kick, adjusting seasonings to taste. You can also vary the type of Italian sausage (mild or hot) to suit your preference.
