Honey Garlic Pork Rice Bowl

Honey Garlic Pork Rice Bowl is a super easy pork recipe cooked in less than 25 minutes with no marinating!

Ingredients

  • pork ribs or shoulder

cut into 1-inch cubes, country style, deboned

    1 lb
  • cornstarch

    optional

    2 tsp
  • kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
    to taste
  • olive oil
    1 tbsp
  • unsalted butter
    1 tbsp
  • garlic

    finely minced

    4 cloves
  • honey
    ¼ c
  • low-sodium chicken or beef stock
    3 tbsp
  • lemon juice
    1 tbsp
  • hot sauce

    optional, we used sriracha

    1 tsp
  • red chili pepper flakes for garnish
    1 tsp
  • chopped fresh parsley and scallion

    for garnish

    1 tbsp
  • cooked rice
    2 c
  • steamed broccoli florets
    1 c

Directions

  1. 1

To make the honey garlic pork bites: Add the diced pork to a large salad bowl with cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Mix to evenly coat all the pork pieces.

  2. 2

Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Melt butter into the oil and add the seasoned pork cubes and cook on all sides until golden brown, for about 6-8 minutes. You may need to work in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan and steaming the pork bites instead of browning them.

  3. 3

Once the pork is done cooking, pour over the garlic, honey, chicken stock (or beef stock), lemon juice, and hot sauce (if using) and stir to completely coat; allow the sauce to simmer for a couple of minutes to meld all the flavors and reduce a little until it sticks to the pork bites.

  4. 4

Garnish the honey garlic pork bites with fresh chopped parsley and red chili pepper flakes, then serve over rice and steamed broccoli. Enjoy! ❤️

About this Recipe

Craving a flavorful, homemade dinner that comes together in a flash? This Honey Garlic Pork Rice Bowl delivers on taste and speed, proving you don't need hours in the kitchen for a truly satisfying meal.

What makes this dish a weeknight hero is its incredible efficiency—no marinating needed, and it's cooked in under 25 minutes. The rich, glossy honey garlic sauce clings perfectly to tender pork, creating a symphony of sweet and savory notes without any fuss.

You'll be treated to succulent cubes of pork, coated in a luscious, slightly sticky sauce that balances the natural sweetness of honey with the pungent warmth of fresh garlic and a zesty finish from lemon. The optional touch of hot sauce, like sriracha, and red chili pepper flakes adds a pleasant, adjustable kick, while the accompanying steamed broccoli provides a fresh counterpoint to the savory meat. This naturally gluten-free dish is an incredibly satisfying and well-rounded meal, perfect for any busy night.

While pork shoulder or country-style ribs are ideal for this recipe, you can easily adjust the level of heat by increasing or decreasing the optional hot sauce and red chili pepper flakes. If you prefer a thicker sauce that truly clings, the optional cornstarch is an excellent addition to ensure that perfect glaze. You can also experiment with different types of stock, such as low-sodium chicken or beef, to slightly alter the savory depth.

Serve this hearty and complete meal immediately, beautifully garnished with fresh parsley and scallions over a bed of fluffy cooked rice, alongside vibrant steamed broccoli.
