Fire up the grill, it's burger time! These Jalapeño Bacon Cheddar Burgers are like a beef burger crossed with a jalapeño popper! So flavourful and delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 pieceswhite bread, crusts removed, then cut into 1/4 inch cubes
  • ⅓ cupmilk
  • 3 lbslean ground beef
  • 1 clovegarlic, chopped finely
  • 1 ½ tsphy’s or lawry’s seasoning salt
  • 1 tspblack pepper
  • 1 tbspmaggi’s sauce or soy sauce
  • 1 tbspworcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbspketchup
  • 2 largejalapeño peppers, seeds and stems removed, then chopped (add more or less if you prefer)
  • ½ cupcubed cheddar cheese (1/4 inch cubes)
  • 4 piecesbacon (not cooked), chopped

Directions

  1. 1

In a large bowl, first mix together the bread and milk into a paste.

  2. 2

Then add the beef, garlic, seasoning salt, pepper, Maggi’s (or soy sauce), Worcestershire sauce and ketchup. Mix well.

  3. 3

Mix in the chopped jalapeño peppers, cheese and bacon.

  4. 4

Shape the mixture into patties. I usually make mine about 5 inches wide and 3/4 inch thick.

  5. 5

The patties are best left to rest in the fridge or freezer for at least 1 hour before barbecuing.

  6. 6

Grill on a medium to high heat grill, taking care not to cook the burgers too fast or the cheese will melt out.

  7. 7

Cook until the burger is well done, with no pink inside.

  8. 8

Serve on a bun with all your favourite trimmings.

  9. 9

    Enjoy!
