About this Recipe
Craving that quintessential comfort food experience? Momma's Meatloaf delivers all the savory, hearty goodness you remember, perfect for a cozy family dinner.
This classic meatloaf stands out for its undeniably delicious flavor and reliable texture. The blend of simple, wholesome ingredients ensures it holds together beautifully, while the signature tangy-sweet glaze on top creates an irresistible finish that will have everyone asking for seconds.
Expect a truly satisfying main dish that is both robust and tender. The ground beef, seasoned with a thoughtful mix of salt, black pepper, basil, oregano, and a hint of crushed red pepper flakes, provides a rich, savory base. This is perfectly complemented by the iconic glaze—a harmonious combination of ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce—which caramelizes beautifully during baking, adding a sweet and tangy counterpoint to the savory meat. It's the kind of home-cooked meal that feels like a warm hug, comforting and deeply flavorful.
Customization is easy to fit your preferences. For a slightly richer meatloaf, opt for 85/15 ground beef; for a leaner option, choose ground beef with less fat. You can also use any percentage of milk—whole, 2%, 1%, or skim—without significantly impacting the final texture. While this recipe is perfect as is, you could consider adding finely diced carrots or bell peppers if you enjoy extra vegetables in your meatloaf.
This Momma's Meatloaf recipe is the ultimate centerpiece for any weeknight meal or Sunday dinner. Serve it alongside your favorite mashed potatoes and green beans for a complete, comforting spread that everyone will love.
