  • 8 largeeggs
  • 2 ½ cupswhole milk
  • 4 tsp.dijon mustard
  • 1 ½ tsp.kosher salt
  • ½ tsp.black pepper
  • 2deli smoked ham slices (about 8 oz. total), cut into 1/4-in. cubes (about 1 1/2 cups)
  • 2deli smoked turkey slices (about 8 oz. total), cut into 1/4-in. cubes (about 1 1/2 cups)
  • 8 oz.gruyère cheese, shredded (about 2 cups), divided
  • 3 tbsp.seedless raspberry jam
  • 1 tsp.tap water
  • powdered sugar
  • fresh strawberries

Directions

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 350°F. Gather all ingredients.

  2. 2

Lightly coat a 9- x 13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.  Spread bread evenly on a large rimmed baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven until lightly toasted, 5 to 8 minutes. Let cool on sheet for 5 minutes.

  3. 3

Whisk eggs, milk, Dijon, salt, and pepper in a large bowl until smooth. Fold in cooled bread, ham, turkey, and 1 cup of the cheese; toss thoroughly until bread soaks up most of the liquid.

  4. 4

Transfer bread mixture to prepared baking dish, and top evenly with remaining 1 cup cheese. Bake in preheated oven until golden brown and center is set, about 55 minutes, tenting with foil as needed during last 15 minutes of baking to prevent overbrowning. Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes.

  5. 5

Meanwhile, stir together jam and water in a small microwave-safe bowl until combined. Microwave on HIGH in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until smooth and syrupy, 1 minute to 1 minute 30 seconds total.

  6. 6

Dust casserole evenly with powdered sugar, then drizzle evenly with jam mixture. Garnish with fresh strawberries, if desired.
