This Oven Bag Crab Boil recipe offers all the savory goodness you love with minimal cleanup, making it perfect for an easy family dinner or a fun gathering. You'll love how effortlessly this method brings together rich flavors.

Why This Recipe Works

The brilliance of this Oven Bag Crab Boil lies in its simplicity and efficiency. By containing all the ingredients within an oven bag, the crab legs, plump shrimp, and tender vegetables steam together, allowing all the aromatic herbs like fresh parsley and zesty spices like Old Bay, lemon pepper, and paprika to meld beautifully. This ensures every bite is infused with a deep, savory flavor, creating a truly irresistible medley of goodness.

What to Expect

Prepare for a feast that delivers big on flavor and succulence. You'll find tender Dungeness crab legs that are easy to crack, perfectly cooked XL shrimp (whether you keep the shells on or off!), and buttery red potatoes alongside sweet corn on the cob, all soaked in a rich, spicy broth featuring melted unsalted butter, low sodium chicken broth, and tangy lemon. The andouille sausage adds a smoky, savory counterpoint, tying all the robust flavors together into one harmonious dish. It's a comforting, hearty meal that feels special without being overly complicated.

Customization & Variations

Feel free to make this Oven Bag Crab Boil your own. While we used Dungeness crab legs, other types of crab legs, such as Snow or King crab, would also be delicious. The recipe also mentions that you can leave the shells on the shrimp if you prefer, which can add extra flavor to the boil. If you like more heat, consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper, or adjust the amounts of Old Bay, lemon pepper, and paprika to suit your personal taste.

This bubbling Oven Bag Crab Boil is ideal for a lively family dinner or a casual get-together with friends. Serve it directly from the bag (carefully!) onto a large platter or newspaper-covered table for a true communal experience.
