Learn how to make homemade pizza dough with all-purpose flour, yeast, and honey. After a 90-minute rise, the dough is ready for your favorite toppings.
Gather ingredients.
In a large bowl whisk together water, honey, and yeast until well combined. Let stand until foamy, about 5 minutes.
Add flour, oil, and salt to the bowl. Stir together until a shaggy dough forms.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and no longer sticky. If the dough is too tacky while kneading, add more flour, a teaspoon at a time. (Avoid adding too much flour, as this will create a dry dough). The dough is ready to rest if when poked it slowly contracts back.
Lightly grease a large bowl with additional oil (you can reuse the one you mixed the dough in). Transfer the dough to the bowl, coating the top with additional oil. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let rise somewhere warm until doubled in size, about 90 minutes.
Preheat oven to 500°F. Gently punch down dough and transfer to a lightly floured work surface. Divide dough in half. (Freeze one half now, if you only want to make one pizza). Roll each half into a 12-inch circle. Lightly pinch the edges to form a lip. Transfer to a baking sheet or pizza pan. Let rest for 10 minutes. Top with sauce, cheese, and desired toppings.
Bake in preheated oven until golden brown, 12 to 15 minutes.
