Fresh green beans are wrapped with bacon and a special brown sugar soy sauce is drizzled over them.

Ingredients

  • 1 poundthin fresh green beans
  • ½ poundthin-cut bacon (sliced in half)
  • ½ cupbutter
  • ⅓ cupbrown sugar
  • 1 tablespoonworcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoongarlic powder
  • ¼ teaspooncayenne pepper

Directions

  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. 2

Wash green beans and carefully lay them on a paper towel and place them in the microwave to steam for about 90 seconds. Alternatively, blanch them for 3-5minutes. Place them in an ice bath to stop the cooking process.

  3. 3

Sauté bacon until it is almost done, about 3 minutes. Undercook the bacon, as it will finish cooking in the oven.

  4. 4

In a small saucepan combine butter, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and cayenne. Cook and stir until butter and brown sugar melt and blend.

  5. 5

Bundle 5 to 6 green beans by wrapping them with a piece of bacon. Secure bacon with a toothpick, and place into a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Repeat with remaining beans.

  6. 6

Drizzle seasoned butter sauce over each green bean bundle.

  7. 7

Bake green bean bundles until the bacon is crisp, 10 - 15 minutes. Before serving, drizzle the remaining sauce over the bacon bundles.
