Vanilla Syrup is a homemade sweetener made with water, sugar, and vanilla extract that is delicious in your favorite drinks from coffee to cocktails, among other uses.
To a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, add water and sugar.
Bring to a boil and stir until all sugar has dissolved (2-3 minutes).
Remove from heat and add vanilla extract. Stir to combine.
Allow the syrup to cool. Then, place it in an airtight container to store in the refrigerator. This recipe makes about 1½ cups of vanilla syrup.
