Ingredients

  • 1 poundlean ground beef
  • 1 poundground italian sausage ((mild or spicy))
  • 1onion ((finely chopped))
  • 4 clovesgarlic ((finely minced))
  • 2 teaspoonsitalian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoonsalt
  • 1 teaspoondried parsley
  • 1 teaspoondried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoonfresh cracked black pepper
  • 1 canlow-sodium crushed tomatoes ((28oz or 798ml))
  • 1 cuplow-sodium beef broth
  • 1 tablespoonsugar ((optional))
  • 2 tablespoonsfresh parsley ((optional))

    Heat a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

    Add the beef, Italian sausage, and onion. Cook, stirring often, until the meat is browned and the onion is translucent. If there is a lot of excess fat, drain it or use a paper towel to soak it up and discard.
