
This simple slow cooker meal is total comfort food. Served with buttered noodles or mashed potatoes, it's the perfect meal for a chilly evening.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season stew meat with salt and pepper, then add to skillet (working in batches if necessary), and sauté until browned.
Add stew meat to slow cooker. In a medium bowl, whisk together beef broth, onion soup mix, Worcestershire sauce, garlic and cornstarch. Pour over beef.
Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours, or until beef is tender. Serve with mashed potatoes, rice or noodles.
