Soft, moist, fluffy pancakes that are super easy to make and only requires one bowl.

Ingredients

  • 290 grams Pastry Flour
  • 50 grams Granulated Sugar
  • 4 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 Egg
  • 420 mL Buttermilk
  • 60 grams Butter, melted

Directions

  1. 1

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl. Mix together, then create a well in the center.

  2. 2

Heat a nonstick frying pan on just slightly below medium heat.

  3. 3

Crack an egg into the well, break up the egg with a fork or whisk. Add buttermilk to egg, mixing only the egg and milk together. Add melted butter to the well.

  4. 4

Mix dry ingredients and wet ingredients together until just combined. Don't over mix. There will be lumps.

  5. 5

Add a small amount of oil to the frying pan, wiping up any excess with a paper towel. Use a ladle or measuring cup to add batter to frying pan. The batter should spread out on it's own.

  6. 6

When bubbles start to rise to the top, check the bottom for color. Flip when golden brown. Adjust temperature of stove if the pancake is cooking too fast or too slow. When both sides are a nice color, transfer to plate. Serve immediately.
