Quick Potato Patties Recipe (Shortcut Aloo Tikkis)

A shortcut recipe to make quick potato patties or aloo tikkis when you are short on time and just need a snack for tea time or when you are really hungry.

Ingredients

  • 2 mediumpotatoes (grated (about 3 cups))
  • a bunch of fresh coriander leaves (chopped)
  • 1 tspjeera / cumin
  • 2green chillies (chopped)
  • 1generous pinch asafoetida / hing / perungayam
  • ½ tspred chilli powder
  • 1 tbspbesan / bengal gram powder / kadalai maavu
  • salt to taste
  • oil for shallow frying

Directions

    Grate the potatoes and squeeze out excess moisture

    Place in a bowl and add the other ingredients in except oil

  3. 3

    Mix welll

    Shape into flat patty shapes on the palm of your hand

  5. 5

    Shallow fry in a wide pan until golden brown on both sides.

    Serve the tikkis hot with ketchup.
