Slow Cooker Black Eyed Peas with Turnip Greens and Sausage

You can’t beat these slow cooker black eye peas with turnip greens and sausage. these are made with frozen black eyed peas, frozen turnips and some smoked sausage. All are slow cooked with some broth seasonings all day long. My bunch loves a pot of beans. I like to serve it over rice. This is a perfect meal, and it feeds a lot of people.

Ingredients

  • 36 oz Frozen Black Eyed Peas
  • 12 oz Frozen Turnip Greens
  • 14 oz Smoked Sausage
  • 3 cups Chicken Broth
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • Cooked White Rice for Serving ((optional))

Directions

    Chop up your smoked sausage then add all of the ingredients to a large crockpot. Cook on high for at least eight hours.

    Once the time is up, stir it really well and turn the heat to low or warm until serving. Serve by itself or on top of white rice. Enjoy!
