Our tuna salad sandwich recipe has a secret ingredient that will change everything you thought you knew about tuna salad, plus it's easy, cheap, healthy and might already be in your fridge!

Ingredients

  • 1can tuna packed in olive oil, undrained
  • ⅓ cupcottage cheese
  • 2 tablespoonsmayonnaise
  • ¼ cupred onion, finely chopped
  • 1celery stalk, finely chopped (about 1/2 cup)
  • 1 tablespooncapers
  • 1 tablespoonlemon juice
  • a pinch or two fresh dill, chopped
  • 2 tablespoonsfresh parsley, minced
  • 1 teaspoondijon mustard
  • 2slices bread, lightly toasted
  • lettuce and sliced tomatoes (optional)
  • sliced tomatoes

Directions

    Combine the ingredients: In a medium bowl, toss together the canned tuna, cottage cheese, mayonnaise, red onion, celery, capers, lemon juice, dill, parsley and Dijon mustard until combined.
