Made with just 3 ingredients, this oatmeal pumpkin dog treat recipe is a healthy and inexpensive alternative to store-bought treats.
Preheat oven to 350°F / 180°C / Gas mark 4.
Add oats to the bowl of a food processor.
Let machine run for 1 - 2 minutes, until oats are almost flour consistency with a few big pieces left.
Add pumpkin purée and eggs, mix to combine until dough looks uniform.
Turn the dough out onto a floured countertop, and work some of the flour from the counter into the dough until it is no longer sticky. You could also dust the dough with a teaspoon or two of flour and place between 2 sheets of parchment paper to roll out.
Use a rolling pin to roll the dough out to roughly 1/8" thick, then cut treats out with a cookie cutter and place on parchment-lined baking sheet. *Dipping the cookie cutter in flour every few treats will prevent the dough from sticking to it.Gather scraps, re-roll the dough, and cut out more treats until you've used up all the dough. *See notes for scooping treats instead of rolling out.
Bake for 16 - 18 minutes, rotating halfway through.
Cool completely before giving to your dog.
