This homemade sweet chili sauce is guaranteed to become a favorite staple in your home!  It's versatile, quick to make, and tastes better than store-bought.

Ingredients

  • ⅝ cuprice vinegar
  • ⅝ cupwater
  • ⅓ cup+ 2 tablespoons cane sugar
  • 2 ½ tsprice wine or dry sherry
  • 1 tablespoonsambal oelek (I did not use)
  • ¼ tspred pepper flakes (these are very hot)
  • 1 ½ teaspoonsfinely minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoonfinely minced ginger
  • 1 teaspoontamari or soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoonscornstarch dissolved in 1 tablespoon water (the sauce will thicken more once cooled)

Directions

    Place all of the ingredients except for the cornstarch mixture in a small saucepan and bring it to a boil, stirring regularly.

    Once the sugar is dissolved stir in the cornstarch mixture, stirring continually until thickened, about 1 minute. Remove from heat and let cool completely. Pour into an airtight jar.
