Once you make this hot onion dip one time you won't even have to come back to this recipe blog anymore. And it's not because you won't want to make it! You will certainly want to make it over and over again, for every party you host and every party you attend. All you're going to have to remember is 2+2+2 equals hot onion dip! Now let's make it!!

Ingredients

  • 2 large diced sweet onions
  • 2 cups mayonnaise
  • 16 oz. freshly shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella
  • salt and cracked black pepper to taste
  • 1 large bread bowl

Directions

  1. 1

    Grate the Swiss cheese.

  2. 2

Mix together the diced onions, shredded Swiss cheese, and mayonnaise. Add salt and lots of cracked black pepper to taste.

  3. 3

    Add into a baking dish ( I used a 9 x 13).

  4. 4

Bake at 350Β° F for about 45 minutes or til’ browned and bubbly.

  5. 5

Hollow out the bread bowl and add the baked onion dip into the bread bowl. Chop up the extra bread you removed into cubes and use for dipping.

  6. 6

Place the filled bread bowl on a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment paper and top the onion dip with mozzarella and more cracked black pepper.

  7. 7

Set oven to broil and cook until the top is browned... about 2-3 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
