This creamed spinach recipe uses fresh spinach, onion, garlic, heavy cream, provolone, and Parmesan cheese for a deliciously rich and creamy side dish.

Ingredients

  • 3bags clean fresh spinach, roughly chopped
  • ¼ cupbutter
  • 3 tablespoonsminced white onion
  • 2 tablespoonsminced garlic
  • 1 ¼ cupsheavy cream
  • 6slices provolone cheese
  • ½ cupfreshly grated parmesan cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste

    Gather all ingredients.

    Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add spinach; cook and stir until wilted.

    Drain in a colander, squeezing out as much liquid as possible.

    Melt butter in the same skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; cook and stir until tender, about 5 minutes.

    Add spinach and stir in heavy cream.

    Tear provolone cheese into small pieces and lay on top of spinach mixture. Stir until cheese is melted and coats spinach.
