If you grew up making Christmas wreath cookies with your family and enjoying them by a roaring fireplace, then this festive recipe will make you nostalgic.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 9.7 ounces mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • a few drops of green food coloring
  • 4 1/2 cups cornflakes
  • 2 packets of Christmas M&Ms (32 red ones picked out), or other red candies

Directions

  1. 1

Prep 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.

  2. 2

Add the butter to a large saucepan, and heat on a low-medium setting until melted.

  3. 3

Add the marshmallows, and stir frequently until melted, about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

Remove the pan from the heat, and add the vanilla extract and green food coloring. Stir well.

  5. 5

Add the cornflakes to the pan, and stir until completely coated in the marshmallow mixture.

  6. 6

Dampen your hands to prevent sticking. Take a handful of the mixture, and place it onto the prepared baking sheet. Use your hands to shape the cornflake mixture into a wreath shape. Repeat this step with the rest of the mixture.

  7. 7

Top each wreath with the red candies.

  8. 8

Place the sheets in the fridge for at least 2 hours so the marshmallow can set.
