
Learn how to make perfect iced tea using this simple and easy method! This technique works for making iced tea from green tea, black tea, white tea and herbal tea.
Bring 2 cups filtered water to a boil.
Place tea bags (wrappers, strings and tags removed) or loose leaf tea in a heat proof container. Pour hot water over tea.
Allow tea to steep (5 minutes for black tea, 3 minutes for green tea, 1 minute for white tea, 15 minutes for herbal tea).
Fill pitcher with ice while tea is steeping.
Remove tea bags from hot tea when steep time is done.
Stir in sugar or sweetener to taste if desired while tea is still hot. Stir until dissolved.
Pour hot tea into the center of the ice in the pitcher (pour through a strainer if using loose leaf tea).
Top off pitcher with cold filtered water.
Serve over ice and with lemon slices if desired.
