This classic apple crisp is made with fresh apples and topped with a buttery oat crumble. A perfect fall dessert served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss to coat evenly.
Spread the apple mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
In another bowl, combine flour, oats, and brown sugar. Cut in the butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Sprinkle the crisp topping evenly over the apples.
Bake for 40–45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.
