Bourbon Hibiscus Tea

Bourbon Hibiscus Tea

1 servings

This drink is not only delicious, it happens to be gorgeous, too! The pink hue comes from the hibiscus tea-infused simple syrup and a garnish of edible flowers. A lemon wheel makes it even prettier.

Ingredients

  • Hibiscus Simple Syrup:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 hibiscus tea bags
  • Drink:
  • 3 tablespoons (1 1/2 ounces) bourbon (I like Virgil Kaine)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice plus lemon wheels, for serving
  • Dried hibiscus flowers or other edible flowers, for garnish, optional

Directions

  1. 1

Make the simple syrup: Heat the sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan over high heat until boiling. Remove from the heat and add the tea bags. Let steep 10 minutes before removing the tea bags. Let cool.

  2. 2

For each drink: Stir together 3 tablespoons simple syrup, the bourbon and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker. Pour over ice and garnish with lemon wheels and flowers, if desired.
