When a full Texas Sheet Cake is just too much cake this recipe for Chocolate Sheet Cake for Two is the answer!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 heaping Tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup hot water (out of the tap)
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp milk (I use whipping cream but can also use buttermilk)
  • 1 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla

    Mix together flour, sugar and salt in a small mixing bowl.
