Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • ¼ cup coconut oil (fully melted)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 banana (sliced)
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • 2 cups shredded carrots
  • Small sized milk bones for garnishing
  • ½ cup plain greek yogurt
  • ¼ cup applesauce
  • ⅓ - ½ cup peanut butter
  • ¼ cup plain pumpkin puree

Directions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and prepare a 12-cup muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray.

  2. 2

In a medium mixing bowl, mix together the whole wheat flour and baking soda. Mix well and set aside.

  3. 3

In a large mixing bowl using an electric hand or stand mixer, mix together all other cake ingredients except for the milk bones. Blend until smooth.

  4. 4

Add the dry mixture and mix until fully incorporated.

  5. 5

Pour cupcake batter into the muffin tins, filling the cups up nearly to the top.

  6. 6

Place inside the oven and cook for 22-24 minutes.

  7. 7

When done, allow the cupcakes to cool completely inside the muffin tin.

  8. 8

When the cupcakes are at room temperature, prepare the frosting. Add all frosting ingredients to a small mixing bowl and blend well using a fork. Mix until the frosting is thick, clump free, and falls off the fork very slowly.

  9. 9

Apple the frosting to the top of the cupcakes using a butter knife or frosting bag.

  10. 10

Garnish with a milkbone and serve to your favorite fur baby!
