Chocolate Chip Blondies

Chocolate Chip Blondies

3 dozen

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, melted butter, eggs and vanilla until they’re just combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt. Stir the flour mixture into the brown sugar mixture until a thick, brownie-like batter forms. Fold in the chocolate chips until they’re evenly distributed throughout the batter. Editor’s Tip: Don’t overmix once the dry ingredients are added to the wet ingredients. No one wants a tough blondie!

  2. 2

Grease a 13x9-inch baking pan. Spread the batter evenly in the pan. Pop the pan into the oven, and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center of the bars comes out clean, 18 to 20 minutes.

  3. 3

Pull the baked bars out of the oven, and allow them to cool completely on a wire rack. Once cool, cut the bars, and serve. Editor’s Tip: Sprinkle flaky salt on top of these blondies to balance out the sweetness.
