Speedy quick Cinnamon Rolls comin’ atcha! Tremendously soft with only one quick rise, you can have these in your belly in just 1 hour if you start right now. Gooey and complete with a yummy cinnamon roll frosting, I truly cannot think of a better use of your time.
In a bowl combine the warm water, yeast and brown sugar. Set aside for 5 minutes. The yeast should be bubbly and foamy. If it isn’t, your yeast is not active and your rolls will not rise - throw it away and try again.
To the bowl of a stand mixer, add 6 cups of flour, the salt and the yeast mixture.
Using the bread hook, knead the ingredients together. While kneading, slowly add in the remaining cup of flour. The dough should be very soft.
Cover and allow the dough to rest for 5 minutes.
Once the resting period is over, turn your dough out onto a floured surface. Flour the top of the dough and roll the dough into a large rectangle. Approx 12 inches by 24 inches.
Brush the melted butter onto the rectangular shaped dough.
Sprinkle the brown sugar onto the buttered dough, spreading with your hand to distribute the brown sugar evenly.
To the top of the brown sugar, sprinkle the cinnamon. Use a rolling pin to press the filling into the dough.
Next, use a pizza cutter and cut the dough into twelve (12), 2 inch strips.
Roll up each strip and place in a greased 9x13 pan.
Warm the heavy cream in the microwave for 30 seconds and slowly pour over each cinnamon roll.
Cover the pan with plastic wrap and let the cinnamon rolls rise for 15 minutes while the oven preheats.
Turn the oven on to 350°F. Once completely heated, uncover the cinnamon rolls and bake at 350°F for 15 minutes. Once it has baked for 15 minutes, turn the heat up to 375°F without removing the cinnamon rolls from the oven, and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
While the cinnamon rolls are baking, make the icing.
In the bowl of a stand mixer or using an electric hand mixer, cream the butter until smooth.
Alternate adding the rest of the icing ingredients, 1 cup of powdered sugar and then some liquid to bring the thick mixture together, repeating until all of the ingredients are added. Add additional liquid slowly until you achieve your desired consistency.
Mix on low until smooth and creamy.
Ice the cinnamon rolls while they’re warm and enjoy!
