About this Recipe
Craving creamy, rich Alfredo sauce without the traditional heavy guilt? This Reduced Fat Alfredo Sauce delivers all the satisfying flavor you desire, proving that a lighter touch can still yield incredible taste.
The magic of this sauce lies in its smart use of everyday ingredients, creating a velvety texture and deep flavor profile that rivals traditional versions, all while keeping the fat content low. It's a testament to simple, stove top preparation delivering big flavor without relying on heavy cream.
Prepare for a lusciously smooth, creamy sauce that beautifully balances the savory, nutty notes of parmesan with a subtle hint of garlic and a touch of pepper. Its velvety texture perfectly coats pasta or grilled meats, offering a truly satisfying experience without the heaviness of traditional versions. You'll be amazed at how quickly this lightened Alfredo comes together, making it an ideal choice for any busy evening.
While 1% low-fat milk is recommended for the best texture and creaminess, skim milk can be used if you prefer an even lighter, albeit slightly thinner, sauce. For an extra depth of flavor, consider adding a pinch of freshly grated nutmeg. Don't have fresh garlic? A touch of garlic powder can be substituted in a pinch.
This versatile sauce is excellent served as a side with grilled chicken or can be doubled to generously coat meat-filled pasta for a hearty main course. It's perfect for a quick, elegant weeknight dinner that feels indulgent.
