drained of all but 2 tablespoons of the can liquid, flaked
- 1 largeslice bread
shredded, crust removed
- 3 tbspgreen onion
chopped, including the green parts
- 1 mediumgarlic clove
minced
- 1 tbspfresh dill
chopped, or 1 teaspoon dried
- 3 tbspgreen bell pepper
minced
- 1 tbspflour
- 1 largeegg
- ½ tspsweet paprika
- 1 tsplemon zest
- 2 tsplemon juice
- ¼ tspsalt
- several turns of freshly ground black pepper
- 3 tbspextra virgin olive oil

Mix the patty ingredients: In a large bowl, gently mix together the salmon (including 2 tablespoons of the can liquid), bread, green onion, garlic, dill, bell pepper, flour, egg, paprika, lemon zest, lemon juice, salt and pepper.

Form the patties: Form 8 patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
