What truly sets these spicy meatballs apart is the thoughtful and generous use of a complex spice blend. Featuring pungent fresh garlic, earthy cumin, sweet paprika, and a fiery kick of cayenne, the meatballs themselves are also seasoned with aromatic ground coriander and a hint of warm cinnamon. This unique combination ensures every bite is rich, deeply savory, and perfectly balanced by a vibrant, robust tomato sauce made from quality Pomi chopped tomatoes.

The cayenne provides a noticeable warmth that enlivens the palate without overpowering the other nuanced flavors. This is a hearty and deeply comforting dish that’s easy enough for a casual family dinner but impressive enough to share with guests.
Customization & Variations
Feel free to adjust the heat level to suit your preference; simply increase or decrease the amount of cayenne pepper in both the meatballs and the sauce. For an extra layer of freshness, you can always stir in a bit more finely chopped fresh cilantro before serving, or even experiment with a different fresh herb like parsley. The recipe specifies Pomi chopped tomatoes, but two 15-ounce cans of diced tomatoes, undrained, work perfectly as a substitute.
These spicy meatballs are incredibly versatile, making them an excellent choice for a variety of meals. Serve them generously over your favorite pasta, alongside a bed of fluffy rice, or with warm, crusty bread to ensure no drop of that delicious sauce goes to waste. They make a fantastic centerpiece for a cozy family dinner or a lively gathering with friends.
