Sweet Potato Country Dumplings

- 8frozen sweet potato patties
thawed and cut in half
- 112-ounce can evaporated milk
- ½ cbutter
- 1 ½ cwhite sugar

- 2 tbspcornstarch
- 2 tspground cinnamon
