The addition of butter ensures a luxurious mouthfeel and helps the flavors meld beautifully, resulting in a side that's anything but ordinary and perfect for any busy weeknight.
You'll be delighted by the vibrant freshness of the green beans, perfectly cooked to a tender-crisp texture, complemented by the savory depth of sliced mushrooms and the subtle sweetness of diced shallots. Feel free to experiment with different mushroom varieties, like cremini or shiitake, for varied textures and flavors. If you don't have a shallot, a small amount of finely diced red onion can work in a pinch. For a slightly different twist, you could try adding a touch of red pepper flakes for a subtle kick, or a squeeze of fresh lime juice at the end for brightness.
