Tips for Perfect Bing Cherry Muffins
- Cherry Prep is Key: Whether using fresh or frozen Bing cherries, make sure they are pitted and sliced. If using frozen, there's no need to thaw completely – just toss them into the batter while still slightly frozen to prevent them from sinking. Blotting excess moisture from fresh cherries can also help.
- Don't Overmix: For those beautifully high crowned muffins and a tender texture, mix the dry and wet ingredients until just combined. A few lumps are perfectly fine! Overmixing develops gluten, leading to tough muffins.
- Flavor Boost: We love the classic vanilla extract, but for an extra layer of gourmet flavor, try almond extract. It pairs wonderfully with the cherries and elevates these fruit muffins to another level.
Serve these delightful Bing Cherry Muffins warm with a pat of butter, alongside your morning coffee, or as an afternoon pick-me-up. They are so easy to make, you'll want to keep a batch ready for any occasion!
