Program Overview
Only Recipes operates an affiliate program that allows approved partners to earn commissions by referring new subscribers to our platform. This document outlines the terms and conditions governing participation in the Only Recipes Affiliate Program. By applying to or participating in the program, you agree to be bound by these terms.
Eligibility & Application
Anyone may apply to join the Only Recipes Affiliate Program. We review all applications and reserve the right to approve or reject any application at our sole discretion. Factors we consider when reviewing applications include, but are not limited to:
- Quality and relevance of your content
- Size and engagement of your audience
- Relevance of your audience to cooking and recipe content
- Your compliance history with other affiliate programs
- Overall alignment with the Only Recipes brand and values
We may request additional information during the review process. Approval of your application does not guarantee continued participation; we reserve the right to revoke affiliate status at any time in accordance with these terms.
Commission Structure
Approved affiliates are eligible to earn commissions as follows:
- Direct Referral Commission: 15% of recurring subscription revenue for each user you directly refer who becomes a paid subscriber
- Sub-Affiliate Commission: 5% of subscription revenue generated by affiliates you recruit into the program
- Commission Duration: 5 years from the referred user's first paid subscription date
Important Clarification: For clarity, "lifetime" or "recurring" commission as referenced in marketing materials means a period of five (5) years from the date of the referred user's first paid subscription.
Complimentary Premium Subscription
Approved affiliates receive a complimentary Only Recipes Premium subscription at no cost for the duration of their active participation in the affiliate program. This benefit is provided so that affiliates can fully experience the product they are promoting and create authentic, informed content for their audience.
- The complimentary Premium subscription is activated upon approval into the affiliate program
- This subscription is for the affiliate's personal use only and may not be transferred to another person or account
- We reserve the right to revoke the complimentary Premium subscription at any time if we determine, in our sole discretion, that the affiliate is not actively promoting Only Recipes for an extended period of time
- Upon termination of the affiliate partnership for any reason, the complimentary Premium subscription will be revoked
Payment Terms
Commission payments are subject to the following terms:
- Commissions are calculated on a monthly basis at the end of each calendar month
- A minimum payout threshold of $50 USD must be met before a payment will be issued
- Payments are processed within 30 days of the end of each calendar month in which the threshold is met
- Available payment methods include PayPal, bank transfer, or as otherwise mutually agreed upon
- All payments are denominated and paid in United States Dollars (USD)
- You are solely responsible for all applicable taxes, duties, and reporting obligations on commission earnings in your jurisdiction
If your balance does not meet the minimum payout threshold at the end of a calendar month, the balance will roll over to the following month.
Cookie Duration & Attribution
Referral tracking and attribution are handled as follows:
- Cookie Duration: 90-day attribution window from the time a user clicks your affiliate link
- Attribution Model: First-touch attribution — the first affiliate link clicked by a user is credited with the referral
- We use cookies and URL parameters to track referrals from affiliate links
- If a user clears their cookies, uses a different device, or browses in private/incognito mode, attribution may not be tracked and no commission will be owed
We make reasonable efforts to ensure accurate tracking but do not guarantee that all referrals will be captured. Technical limitations, user behavior, and browser settings may affect tracking accuracy.
Acceptable Promotion Methods
The following promotion methods are permitted for affiliates:
- Personal blogs and websites
- Social media platforms (including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Twitter/X, and Facebook)
- Email newsletters sent to your own opted-in subscribers
- Online communities and forums where you are an active, contributing member
- Podcast mentions and audio content
- Video content and tutorials
- Honest reviews, comparisons, and editorial content about Only Recipes
All promotional content must clearly and conspicuously disclose your affiliate relationship with Only Recipes in compliance with FTC guidelines and any applicable local regulations regarding endorsements and testimonials.
Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited. Engaging in any of these activities may result in immediate termination of your affiliate partnership and forfeiture of unpaid commissions:
- Spam of any kind, including unsolicited emails, social media spam, forum spam, and comment spam
- Bidding on Only Recipes trademarks or brand terms (including "onlyrecipes," "only recipes," or similar variations) in paid search or pay-per-click (PPC) advertising
- Creating misleading advertisements or making false, exaggerated, or unsubstantiated claims about Only Recipes or its features
- Cookie stuffing, click fraud, or any form of artificial click or referral generation
- Self-referrals, including referring yourself, your own accounts, or accounts you control
- Purchasing or registering domain names that include "onlyrecipes" or confusingly similar variations
- Incentivizing clicks or sign-ups (e.g., offering rewards for clicking your affiliate link) without genuine interest in the product
- Any activity that violates applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
Fraud Prevention & Commission Adjustments
We take the integrity of our affiliate program seriously and maintain the following policies regarding fraud prevention:
- We reserve the right to withhold, reverse, or cancel commissions if we determine, in our sole discretion, that referrals were generated through fraudulent, deceptive, or prohibited means
- Commissions may be adjusted if a referred user requests a refund or initiates a chargeback
- Suspicious patterns of activity may trigger a review, during which commissions may be held pending investigation
- Repeat violations of these terms will result in immediate termination of the affiliate partnership and forfeiture of all unpaid commissions
- If affiliate revenue is determined to have been generated through fraudulent means — including but not limited to fake referrals, bot traffic, manufactured conversions, identity fraud, or any form of deception — we reserve the right to immediately terminate your affiliate account, cease all current and future commission payments, and reclaim any commissions already paid that were attributable to the fraudulent activity. No prior notice is required in cases of fraud
We will make reasonable efforts to notify you if your account is flagged for review, but we are not obligated to disclose the details of our fraud detection methods.
Termination
Either party may terminate the affiliate partnership at any time with 30 days written notice to the other party.
We may terminate the affiliate partnership immediately, without the 30-day notice period, in the event of a violation of these terms or suspected fraud.
Upon termination:
- Pending earned commissions that have met the minimum payout threshold will be paid out within 60 days of the termination date
- Unearned or pending commissions for referrals that have not yet converted to paid subscriptions will be forfeited
- You must promptly remove all Only Recipes affiliate links, banners, and marketing materials from your properties
- Your access to the affiliate dashboard and tracking tools will be revoked
Intellectual Property
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use Only Recipes trademarks, logos, and marketing materials solely for the purpose of promoting the service as an approved affiliate partner.
- You may not modify, alter, or create derivative works from our trademarks, logos, or marketing materials
- You may not use our intellectual property in any way that implies endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation beyond your role as an affiliate
- This license terminates immediately upon termination of your affiliate partnership
- All rights not expressly granted in these terms are reserved by Only Recipes
Sale of Company / Change of Ownership
In the event of a sale, merger, acquisition, or other change of ownership of Only Recipes, the following provisions apply:
- The new ownership may, at its sole discretion, choose to honor, modify, or terminate the affiliate program and these terms
- We will make reasonable efforts to provide affiliates with 60 days notice of any material changes to the affiliate program resulting from a change of ownership
- Any earned and unpaid commissions at the time of such change will be honored and paid out in accordance with these terms
Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes to these terms will be handled as follows:
- Material changes will be communicated with at least 30 days advance notice via email to your registered affiliate email address
- The updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date
- Continued participation in the affiliate program after the effective date of changes constitutes your acceptance of the modified terms
- If you do not agree to the modified terms, you may terminate your participation in the program as described in the Termination section above
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU IN CONNECTION WITH THE AFFILIATE PROGRAM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL COMMISSIONS PAID TO YOU IN THE PRECEDING 12 MONTHS.
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE AFFILIATE PROGRAM.
