Mississippi Mud Brownies
Ingredients
- 1ounce fudge brownie mix
18.3
- 1 ctoasted chopped pecans
- mini marshmallows
- 16 ozcontainer of milk chocolate frosting
Directions
- 1
To toast the pecans, place them on a baking sheet and bake for 7-8 minutes at 350. You don't have to toast them, but it adds to the flavor.
- 2
In a 9X13 baking dish, prepare the brownies according to the directions on the brownie box. When you take them out of the oven, immediately sprinkle the mini marshmallows all over the top. Place a piece of aluminum foil over the top to hold in the heat. This will allow the marshmallows to melt. Leave the foil on for 7-8 minutes.

While they are melting, spoon the frosting into a microwave-safe dish and place it in the microwave for 25 seconds. Take it out, stir it, and continue to warm it until it is of pouring consistency.
- 4
Remove the aluminum foil and pour the frosting over the brownies. Top with pecans—place brownies in the refrigerator for several hours before cutting.

Get ready for a dessert that’s unbelievably easy to make and even harder to resist: Mississippi Mud Brownies! This recipe takes all the classic, comforting flavors of a traditional Mississippi Mud Pie and transforms them into a super simple, fudgy brownie form. Perfect for busy bakers or anyone craving a decadent treat, these brownies are a guaranteed crowd-pleaser for any occasion.
What makes these Mississippi Mud Brownies so special? It's the incredible combination of textures and rich chocolate flavor, all without needing to make anything from scratch! We start with a convenient fudge brownie mix for that ultra-chewy, chocolatey base. Layered on top are fluffy mini marshmallows that get perfectly gooey when baked, creating a delightful molten top. Once cooled, a generous spread of creamy canned milk chocolate frosting provides an extra layer of sweetness and smoothness. And for that essential crunch, we fold in toasted chopped pecans into the brownie batter, offering a beautiful contrast to the soft layers.
These brownies are incredibly versatile and perfect for any gathering. Whether you're bringing them to a holiday party, a casual get-together, or a spirited tailgate, they're sure to disappear quickly. The straightforward preparation means you spend less time in the kitchen and more time enjoying your delicious creation!
Tips for Perfect Mississippi Mud Brownies
- Toasted Pecans are Key: Don't skip toasting the pecans! It really brings out their nutty flavor and adds an extra layer of deliciousness to your easy brownies.
- Cool Completely: Allow the brownies to cool mostly before frosting. This ensures the frosting sets beautifully and doesn't melt into a mess.
- Serving Suggestions: While fantastic on their own, these fudgy brownies are divine served slightly warm with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce for an extra indulgent experience.
- Flavor Variations: Feel free to experiment with different types of frosting! A dark chocolate frosting could add a deeper cocoa punch, or a cream cheese frosting would offer a lovely tang to balance the sweetness.
