My Sheet Pan French Toast makes 6 slices of crisp, golden, custardy French toast at once—perfect for a holiday or weekend brunch crowd.

Ingredients

  • eggs

    3 large
  • whole milk
    ¾ c
  • vanilla extract
    ½ tsp
  • ground cinnamon
    ¼ tsp
  • salt
    ⅛ tsp
  • brioche)

    bread (about 1 inch / 2 ½ cm thick

  • granulated sugar

Directions

To make the sheet pan french toast

    Preheat the broiler on high. Line a baking sheet with foil and generously butter the foil.

    In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon and salt until smooth.

    Spread the butter on one side of the brioche slices.

    Dip each slice, one at a time into the custard and allow to soak for about 2 minutes on each side. Arrange the slices in a single layer, buttered side up, on the prepared baking sheet.

    Sprinkle evenly with the granulated sugar.

To bake the sheet pan french toast

    Broil for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the toast puffed up. (Watch closely to prevent burning.)

To serve and store the sheet pan french toast

    Serve immediately with maple syrup and fresh berries, if desired. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat briefly in the microwave or in a 350°F (180°C) oven until warmed through.
