This recipe works because it strikes a perfect balance between bright, herbaceous cilantro and the fiery heat of jalapeño and serrano peppers, all mellowed by a creamy base. What you'll experience is a creamy, smooth dip bursting with fresh, piquant notes. The combination of cilantro, green onions, and lime juice provides an invigorating freshness, while the jalapeño and serrano peppers deliver a noticeable, yet balanced, heat. Customization & Variations

  • To adjust the spice level, you can reduce the number of jalapeño or serrano peppers, or keep some of the seeds in if you prefer a more intense heat.
  • For a richer flavor, you might slightly alter the ratio of mayonnaise to sour cream to suit your preference.

This spicy cilantro sauce is perfect for casual entertaining or as a staple condiment for weeknight meals. Serve it alongside grilled chicken, as a vibrant dressing for a hearty salad, or as a lively marinade for seafood.
