Easy Baked Brie

Easy Baked Brie

Ingredients

  • 1 12-14 oz wheel of brie
  • 1/2 tsp. chopped fresh thyme leaves
  • 1/2 tsp. chopped fresh rosemary leaves
  • 2 tbsp. honey
  • Sea salt

    optional

  • Toasted bread

apple slices, and/or grapes, for serving

Directions

  1. 1

Remove the brie from the refrigerator. Remove any paper wrapping and return the wheel to the bottom part of its wooden box or place it on a small square of parchment paper (that is slightly larger than the brie wheel itself). Make very shallow slits across the top of the brie, just through the rind layer, every ½-inch to 1-inch, in a criss-cross pattern. Let rest at room temperature for 30 minutes.

  2. 2

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place the brie on a small sheet tray. Sprinkle the top with the fresh thyme and rosemary, and drizzle with honey. Bake for 20 – 25 minutes, until very soft.

  3. 3

Carefully transfer the brie, in the box or on the sheet of parchment paper, to a serving plate. Serve warm alongside toasted bread, apple slices and/or grapes, for serving.

About this Recipe

Looking for an effortless appetizer that consistently wows? This Easy Baked Brie recipe transforms a simple cheese wheel into a show-stopping experience, perfect for entertaining or a cozy night in, proving that elegance doesn't have to be complicated.

The brilliance of baked brie lies in its minimal effort for maximum impact. By gently warming the creamy brie and topping it with aromatic fresh thyme and rosemary, then drizzling it with sweet honey, you create a symphony of flavors and textures that feels incredibly indulgent yet is remarkably straightforward to prepare. The interplay between the earthy herbs, the rich, buttery cheese, and the sweet honey makes every bite truly memorable.

Imagine cutting into a perfectly softened brie, the interior a molten, rich cascade, ready to be scooped onto a crisp slice of toast or a fresh apple. Each bite delivers the vibrant, aromatic notes of fresh rosemary and thyme, balanced beautifully by the sticky sweetness of honey, with an optional hint of sea salt elevating every flavor. It's a comforting, savory, and subtly sweet delight that’s deceptively easy to achieve, making you look like a culinary genius with almost no effort at all. The experience is one of pure, unadulterated pleasure, inviting everyone to gather around and enjoy.

While delicious as is, this baked brie welcomes customization. Instead of fresh thyme and rosemary, you could explore other fresh herbs like chives or marjoram for a slightly different flavor profile. For an alternative sweet note, consider a fruit preserve or a sprinkle of chopped toasted nuts in place of the honey. You can also vary your dippers—beyond toasted bread, apple slices, and grapes, consider sturdy crackers, pear slices, or even crisp vegetable sticks.

This warm, inviting dish is ideal for holiday gatherings, impromptu cocktail parties, or simply as a luxurious treat to share. Serve it warm directly from its baking vessel, surrounded by your chosen accompaniments for easy dipping and enjoyment.
