  • 3 large eggs

  • 1/3 cup + 2 tablespoons sugar

    divided

  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter

    melted

  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 4 packages cream cheese

    softened & divided, 8-ounce

  • 1 2/3 cups sugar

    divided

  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 pint heavy cream
  • 1 package instant vanilla pudding

    3.4-ounce

  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 4 ounces semisweet chocolate

    coarsely chopped

  • 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
  • 4 tablespoons butter

Directions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Butter a 9-inch springform pan and wrap the outside with foil.

  2. 2

Sift together cake flour, baking powder, and salt.

  3. 3

Beat egg yolks with 1/3 cup sugar until light and ribbony, about 5 minutes. Add vanilla. Fold the flour mixture into the yolk mixture, then blend in melted butter.

  4. 4

In a separate bowl, beat egg whites with cream of tartar until foamy. Gradually add 2 tablespoons sugar, beating until stiff peaks form. Fold the whites into the batter and spread in the pan. Bake for 13-15 minutes.

  5. 5

Make the cheesecake layer. Beat one package of cream cheese with 1/3 cup sugar and cornstarch until creamy. Add remaining cream cheese, then beat in remaining sugar and vanilla.

  6. 6

Blend in the eggs one at a time, then mix in heavy whipping cream.

  7. 7

Pour over the cooled cake layer. Place in a water bath and bake for 75-85 minutes until the center barely jiggles. Cool for 1 hour, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours.

  8. 8

To make the pastry cream, beat the heavy cream, pudding mix, and milk on high until thick. Spread over the chilled cheesecake.

  9. 9

Make the chocolate glaze. Combine chocolate, corn syrup, and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat until melted, stirring until smooth. Cool slightly.

  10. 10

Pour the slightly cooled glaze over the dessert. Serve and enjoy!

About this Recipe

Craving a dessert that delivers on both nostalgia and pure indulgence? This Boston Cream Pie Cheesecake recipe masterfully combines two beloved classics into one show-stopping creation, guaranteeing a truly decadent experience for any occasion.

This recipe shines by bringing together the best elements of both worlds: a tender, airy sponge cake forms the base, providing that signature Boston cream pie lightness. Layered atop is a rich, creamy cheesecake filling, offering the luxurious tang and smooth texture you adore. Finally, a glossy, luscious chocolate ganache cascades over the top, uniting the flavors in a harmonious, utterly irresistible dessert. It’s a true celebration of textures and flavors in every bite.

Prepare for a dessert that’s nothing short of spectacular. You’ll be greeted by the soft, delicate crumb of the sponge cake, beautifully contrasted by the dense, velvety smooth cream cheese filling. Each forkful melts in your mouth, with the deep, bittersweet notes of the chocolate ganache complementing the sweet vanilla custard-like flavors of the cheesecake and cake layers. This dessert is designed to impress, offering a sophisticated yet comforting treat that's perfect for gathering with loved ones or celebrating a special moment. It's a rich, substantial dessert that truly satisfies.

Want to make it your own? While the classic combination is divine, you can easily tweak the ganache to suit your preferences. Swap the semisweet chocolate for dark chocolate for a more intense, less sweet topping, or opt for milk chocolate for an even creamier, sweeter finish. This allows you to customize the chocolate experience without altering the core integrity of the dessert.

This Boston Cream Pie Cheesecake is an ideal centerpiece for holiday meals, birthday celebrations, or any time you want to share something truly special. Serve it chilled, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully, and prepare for rave reviews.
