On a hot summer day, nothing is better than homemade lemonade. All you need are 3 ingredients and the perfect ratio to make it the best it can be—here's how.

Ingredients

  • 1 c. (100 g.) granulated sugar
  • 1 c. fresh lemon juice
  • Ice and lemon slices, for serving

Directions

    In a small saucepan over medium heat, bring 1 cup water to a boil. Stir in granulated sugar until dissolved. Let cool.

    In a large pitcher, stir lemon juice, cooled simple syrup, and 8 cups cold water. Serve over ice with lemon slices.

    Make Ahead: Simple syrup can be made 1 week ahead. Store in an airtight container and refrigerate.
