About this Recipe
Looking for a stunning side dish that's as easy to make as it is impressive to serve? This Layered Pasta Salad is “dressed to impress,” offering a vibrant presentation and a symphony of flavors that will be the star of any potluck or gathering.
What makes this Layered Pasta Salad truly special is its thoughtfully constructed layers, which ensure every forkful delivers a delightful blend of textures and tastes. The rich, creamy dressing, a perfect balance of tangy and savory notes from mayonnaise, sour cream, Dijon mustard, and white wine vinegar, coats the pasta beautifully while mingling with fresh, crisp vegetables and hearty ham.
Prepare for a hearty and refreshing experience. You'll find tender macaroni pasta, crisp romaine lettuce, crunchy bell pepper, and celery, all complemented by sweet peas, sharp red onion, savory ham, and briny black olives. The shredded cheddar cheese adds a final touch of creamy goodness. Each layer contributes to a visually appealing dish that tastes as good as it looks, providing a satisfying mix of textures from creamy to crisp with every bite.
Customization is simple with this versatile layered pasta salad. For a vegetarian option, simply omit the diced ham and consider adding a can of drained chickpeas or extra vegetables like corn or cucumber. If you prefer a different kind of pasta, small shapes like rotini or penne would also work well. Feel free to swap red bell pepper for yellow or orange for a different color pop, or use your favorite type of shredded cheese instead of cheddar.
This Layered Pasta Salad is perfect for backyard barbecues, summer picnics, family reunions, or any occasion where you need a reliable, crowd-pleasing side. Serve it chilled, and watch it disappear!
